Gnashing teeth with the terrifying glowing eyes snatched my chin and maced my eyes.

A story of 16 year old, back in 2016, when I had the first sleep paralysis. My exams were scheduled the very next month. The constraint of the time left the stress, and sleep deprivation — probably the basic symptoms of sleep paralysis. At 2 am, a chilly night of November, when I decided to take a short nap. I was sleeping for 20 mins, when the predicament inside me tried to wake me up for the preparation of exam, but my brain wanted me to sleep. The confrontation between my brain and my soul; took me to the state, where I was half dead and half alive. I was lying down in bed with my eyes wild open, but i couldn’t able to move myself, couldn’t speak, I tried to scream but couldn’t, not even perceptible of finger. I was in my senses. I heard the whispering of air, I had seen every single movement in the room: the clock, the curtains, and the noises. My mind was connected with my emotions, my visions, but was disconnected with my body. This was the inception of scary month of sleep paralysis.

Two days ahead from that day, I again experienced sleep paralysis. That time i knew, This won’t scare me, i kept saying to my self — this is temporary, i ain’t letting this tyranny on me. But little did i know, this will get worse.

On my fifth experienced, I encountered something new, petrifying enough to scared the sh*t out of me. I saw a demon: glowing red eyes, gnashing teeth, and horrifying face seated on my chest. The demon had been continuously gazing me. He wasn’t in attempt of physically harm me, but his presence was hunted enough. I bellicosity screamed for help, but tassel didn’t worth the hustle: as i couldn’t able to speak or move. I tried few attempt to get-off the bed — but couldn’t. The experience was so legitimate, it wasn’t a nightmare, where you wake-up right after a tipping point. I had my senses in addition to the demon — where he stared at me for the entire time. Back of my mind i thought this is the last night of my life, I had feelings he’s here to take my soul to neon-gravestones. Those 30 mins were the most frightening half an hour of my life, but glad it was over. I woke-up, and the demon disappeared. I started to move my body again. I realized, i had a sleep paralysis, but the terrifying one. I didn’t talk about my experience to anyone, i just did little research from various resources. The most satisfying part of all of this was: the demon wasn’t real.

Religion vs science about sleep paralysis

science define sleep paralysis as brief loss of muscle control, the condition is called atonia. This happen in intermediate state of fall as sleep and waking-up. under this condition, atonia hampered acting-up, or hindered physical movement. Atonia ends-up right after protagonist of the episode wake-up. sleep paralysis usually called as a type of parasomnia. Parasomnias are abnormal behavior in sleep( walking, and talking during sleep). Sleep paralysis is connected to rapid eye movement(REM). In short summary sleep paralysis called as REM parasomnia. Researches believes that sleep paralysis have mixed feeling of consciousness that fused both wakefulness and REM sleep. Most people often see demon while experiencing sleep paralysis — is nothing real just hallucination. Manifest cause of sleep paralysis is still needed to find, but studies have examined the data — sleep disorder, and other sleeping problem often provoke sleep paralysis.

Most of the uprising religions believe: sleep paralysis is a different state of a body. There are 5 dimension of a body: physical body, mental body, energy body, etheric body, and bliss body. First three are physical body, bliss body is beyond physical, and ethric is a transition state of physical body to spiritual body. when a person fall as sleep his soul or bliss body is taken away to unknown place until he wakes-up. he can’t control the memory of that bliss body. Most people in Asia believes: during demonic sleep paralysis the soul falls in the frequency of spirits, and ghosts. The experiences are not hallucination — it’s real. As long as the etheric body stays in dimension of spirits, A person continue to see spirits, and ghosts. different religion explain different theories.
